Fear is the Fenceline on the Edge of your Comfort Zone

Fear is the fence line on the edge of your comfort zone.

The thing is, it's only electrified in your mind.

I have cows and grew up around cows. You can train dogs and cows and other animals to recognize an electric fence.

At some point, they get zapped once or twice, and then they'll never go close to that fence again. The funny thing is, you can turn off that fence, and they will still be petrified and scared.

We have a rottweiler, and she is the sweetest, kindest dog in the world. We have one of those perimeter electric fences, and she's got a little shock collar for it. My experience is as you turn that thing up as high as it can go, it will knock them flat on their back. No, it isn't because you want to inflict pain. It's because you don't want to inflict pain regularly. They get shocked once, and they'll never go back there again.

That's what I've learned about animals. And humans, we're the same way.

There's some time in your life, at the edge of your comfort zone, you got shocked; you got zapped. Just imagine the static electricity, and somebody jolts you, and it hurts! That's what's lying on the edge of our comfort zone. But the only place that's electrified is in your mind. You have to choose to say, "Hey, I can get through that."

My encouragement to you today is to recognize fences and then choose to turn off the electricity.

Choose to turn it off in your brain because it only exists in your brain.

So, find something to do today where you fail more and get a little bit closer, a little bit deeper onto the edge of that comfort zone, and realize it's not going to shock you.
I hope you’ll join me for my upcoming FREE webinar to help you Awaken the Leader Within on January 29-30 from 2-4 Eastern. Register NOW! What are you waiting for?
