We Didn't Sign Up for Easy; We Signed Up for Worthwhile

We didn't sign up for easy; we signed up for worthwhile.

This comes from my friend Jeff Henderson, who wrote the book What to do Next.

He writes and talks about this in the book. We go through challenges in life, especially professionally. Sometimes we fall into the habit of doing what’s easy, like the Staples button, the easy button.

But that's not worthwhile. Whatever you're doing in life, whatever your purpose is, whatever your profession is, whatever your vocation is, I doubt that you signed up for it solely because it was easy.

Easy doesn't get you very far.

I've experienced that worthwhile changes your life—worthwhile drives you to accomplish something meaningful and impactful.

I urge you to think about where in your life you are mixing up worthwhile and easy.

You're committed to worthwhile, but you wish it was easy. There are many things in my life I wish were easier.

That's my opportunity.

For it to be worthwhile, it's probably not going to be easy.

Easy doesn't get you very far.

For it to be worthwhile, it's probably not going to be easy.
