Your Greatest Adversity Can Be Your Greatest Blessing

Your greatest adversity can be your greatest blessing.

I speak from experience.  I speak from a point of experiencing some tragedy when I was younger, and it was difficult for me to balance that out and go through a lot of it. I realized recently, in the last couple of years, that if it wasn't for the experience, I wouldn't have become the person I've become.

This idea all started with a phone call awhile back, and this person was talking about how they were excited about 2021 and be done with 2020 for me I said, "2020 was great."

Now, that can make people freak out.

I've heard people say, "Oh, that's tone-deaf, that's just rude, it was a challenge." Sure! Every year, every day can be a challenge for people in ways that we don't know.

I look at the past few years and I'm grateful for a lot.

Again, I've experienced tragedy.  I lost a sibling when I was 14 years old. Yeah, it was kind of tragic. I could look back and say that was the worst day of my life. Yet that was a day that set things in motion that I've had the opportunity to use as a catalyst to be better.

Great adversity CAN, stressing the word "can", be your greatest blessing. Hear me out, I don't want to discount if there's been a tremendous struggle -debt, divorce, emotional and physical pain- any of those things. Don't get me wrong, I feel your pain; it can get you down. However, I'm also going to challenge you and say, if you're reading this, then you have a whole lot to be grateful for because you're alive.
