The Bars that Hold us Imprisoned are Bars That Are Made in our Minds

The only prison that can hold you in is one made with bars from your mind.

I don't know if you have heard the old story about the elephant who's tethered. The elephant’s got this rope tied around his leg, and it's hooked to a small little post, and it doesn't run away.

The man asks the trainer, "Why is that?" The trainer explains, "Well, because when it's young, we take a rope, we tie it to its leg and tie it to a very strong tree. The elephant learns that they can't break away."

There’s also a story about a tiger. A tiger was brought into captivity, and was put in this little 12x12 cage. It just roamed that cage all day long. Finally, somebody said, "We’ve got to let him out. We’ve got to put him in a better habitat." So, they construct this amazing, huge habitat.

What does the tiger do? The tiger marks off a little 12 by 12-foot square and never leaves that square.

The bars that hold us imprisoned are bars that are made in our minds.

Think about that today.

The only prison that can hold you in is one made with bars from your mind.
