Being Prepared is Part of the Equation
Being prepared is part of the equation.
Without a vision and the willingness to act, preparation is futile.
I pose this question, would you rather follow a leader who has everything prepared, and they show up at the trailhead just saying, "Okay, where are we going? I got everything."? Or would you rather follow the leader that shows up to the trailhead and says, "I know everyone's got all that we need, this is where we're going to go, this is what it looks like, come with me, and we're going to get this done together."?
I'd much rather follow the second.
And yet, how often do we find ourselves saying, I'm not prepared enough to lead? The reality is, we don't have enough vision, or we aren't sharing enough vision.
People will follow when you have a vision. People will follow when you have a compelling vision without all the preparation.
Being prepared is part of the equation. Without a vision and willingness to act, preparation is futile. It is just not going to get you there.
You have to have a vision of where you're going.
