Generosity in Society is Not About Giving

Generosity in society is not about giving, it's caring for those who need it.

You could walk up to Salvation Army and just hand them $1,000. You could hand them $100. You could hand them $10, and walk away and just go back to your life.

In a lot of cases, that money will accomplish a lot.

In some cases, it's not that money, it's not giving that makes a difference. It's caring about those people. It's sitting down and just having a conversation with people to find out where they're at in life.

It isn't about just giving out a Christmas gift.

I'm thinking of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation right now, and Clark is waiting for that check so he can build a pool, and the check never comes. It's not about getting the gift, it's about just caring. That boss did not care.

As we move through this holiday season: generosity is not just about giving, it's about caring for those who need it.
