Lifted Up or Dragged Down

You're either lifted up or dragged down.

And it's not just about what happens to you, but rather who is around you that determines which it is. If you're around people who look at challenges and get excited by them, they’re like, "Oh, this'll be fun. That's a tough challenge, but I'm in it. I'm in it with you." As opposed to the people who are saying, "Woe is me. Oh, here’s another bad thing in my life. Here's another tough difficulty."

People face difficulties every day from health diagnoses to challenges in relationships, to whatever it is in the workplace. The difference is the people who dwell on what happens to them or the people who rise to the challenge. You see it all the time in sports.

Things happen to people in life. It's happened to me, it's probably happened to you. It’s your job to determine if you're lifted up or dragged down as the people around you say, "I got you. Let's go. Let's link arms."

I encourage you to remind yourself of this the next time something doesn’t go your way, or the next time someone close to you is experiencing difficulty in their life.
