Leadership should be focused on others
Leadership, like marketing, should be focused on others.
A couple of years ago, I read a few books and realized that great leadership is the same as great marketing. Marketing that sells a false dream and focuses on what the company can get for itself doesn't go very far—this is just a ‘flash in the pan.’ People eventually find out their product is not that good or feel taken advantage of.
This can happen in leadership too. If you focus on what others want, you will get everything you want. That's how it works. If you focus on the right people who want the things that you want, then you're all going to go to the same place.
That’s what a great leader does. They put their arms around the people going in the same direction and help everyone accomplish more with a positive attitude. A focus on others helps to create a supportive and inclusive work culture. When team members feel that their well-being is a priority, it reduces stress, enhances morale, and fosters a sense of camaraderie. A positive work culture is essential for long-term team performance and success.
