Stop and Think
If we jump in and don't think before we do things, we will get results we don't want to get.
Do you have time in your day to stop, to take five minutes, shut out all the noise, and sit and think? Collect your thoughts and ask yourself, “How can I accomplish that? What can I do? How can I be most effective and efficient?”
But yet, as people, are we allowing and encouraging people to stop and think? How will we accomplish the task at hand? Or do we want people just to be told what to do? Because when we're telling people what to do, we're not encouraging them to think.
When we don't think, we end up in places we don't want to end up.
Your thoughts are important, so take time to stop and think. This is actually the first step of doing.
When you think, "I need to be in a rush of action, and action, and action," just stop and quiet yourself to think.
Now, maybe I'm speaking to me. Maybe I'm talking to action-oriented people. Maybe there's a lot of people that think, and think, and think.
Here's the problem though, sometimes our thoughts aren't good either. We’ve got to think about good thoughts, so we don't have to think the opposite. A lot of our doing can be bad thoughts that aren't going to help us have good thoughts.
So as I leave you guys today, my encouragement is to think.
Make sure you carve out time to stop and think.
I can guarantee it's going to improve your life.
