The Night I Nearly Died
I recently remembered the night I nearly died.
It isn't one of those middle school; my-mom's-underwear-fell-out-of-my-jacket-at-school-and almost-died memories. It was a legit 'I could have bled out' situation. The night I nearly died, my leg was impaled by the shaft of a broken golf club.
I never really think about how dangerously close to death I was. The puncture missed my femoral artery by less than 3 inches. Legitimately 3 inches from bleeding out. Sobering!
I'll come back to the details another time.
Today I want to share this instead. We each have moments in our life which set a course of actions and reactions. How we respond to those moments significantly defines who we are.
As a leader, I can't be naive about the responsibilities I have. I can't be naive to the impact and influence entrusted to me.
I can't merely go through my days thinking and acting as if my actions don't have ramifications.
Now the sunshine.
That night I didn't die. I know I didn't die because I have a purpose.
You have a purpose too. I'm pretty sure you, like me, have had a hard time finding that purpose. It took me many years and broken relationships. I don't want that for you. I want you to know what your purpose is. That is why I started the Impact Driven Leader Podcast and Book Club. It's my purpose.
It's my purpose to help others accomplish some pretty amazing things. I can't do it alone. I need your help.
Let's DO THIS!
